Christmas was about food, meat, meat and more meat and yeah sharing love. Christmas is over for some, who had spent it holed up at home, eating and sleeping, while for others it has just started. For others, Christmas revolves around meeting people, connecting with old pals and attending one event or the other. During Christmas, so many events are littered across Nigeria, like the Calabar Carnival, Lagos Street Carnival, Rhythm Unplugged, Falz Experience and much more. Before the year comes to an end, there’s two more events you should probably attend.

Palmwine Music Festival

The Hip Hop duo, Show Dem Camp will organise the Palmwine Music Festival. This show will hold on December 29, 2017 at the Muri Okunola Park VI, Lagos.

Palm Wine Music fuses contemporary African music with a traditional West African sound and has since taken on a life of its own – with the name of the tropical drink being used to describe the sweet fusion of African percussions with live instrumentals, elements of hip hop, and an atmosphere surrounding those feel-good songs.

Speaking further on the the style of music, SDC said “It represents organic live music, live instrumentation and a fresh music and escaping the stress of Lagos life. It’s oneness with nature, chilling with friends, a beautiful woman… just a happy place. ”

The festival will host some of the most exciting voices in Nigerian music in an eclectic line-up selected by the duo such as SDC, Bez , Moelogo , Ladipoe, Blackmagic, Ajebutter22 , Tomi Thomas and many more.

Following the release of their Palmwine Music Vol 1 EP and several live pop-up sessions earlier in the year, the festival marks a significant point in what has been a successful year.

The program of events will also include live DJ Sets, food and drinks, games, art and culture specifically curated to create a day of activities that will engage and interest fans and guests.
